These Japanese anamorphic primes were built in the 1960s, with coatings similar to those of the Kowa Cine Prominars. They are unusually small and lightweight for anamorphic lenses; indeed, they are one of the few anamorphic prime sets that are covered by PV filters across the range. Visually, the Kowa Anamorphics can be made to flare easily, with true skin tones. Their extraordinarily warm flare and compact design ensure that the Kowa Anamorphics are a favourite among cinematographers and camera operators alike.
